INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY

I want to start by saying that I am not defending or condoning sexual assault, rape, and manipulative behavior. This whole situation started because a Buttertones member slept and stopped engaging with chloesrazink (Chloe S Razink, age 21). After five days of this going on, the band has been disbanded, including the dropping from their label, and the defamation of every single member of the band including the manager and members that just joined a few months ago. I can tell the band didn't even have the time to properly address things together, by the speed this took. In California, under California Civil Code Section 44, defamation can be effected by either libel or slander.

The point I want to stress out throughout this whole post is that YOU ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. That’s how the law works in the US and that’s how the situation should be judged. A surge of unjustified and un-based allegations have been compiled on the Instagram account exposing_the_buttertones defaming the band. The allegations have zero tangible evidence that could be used in a court of law so far. I decided show my review of the first 21 submissions, since they all start to look similar with the same pattern after that, please see below.

Submissions:
  1. SUBMISSION 1: Deleted?
  2. SUBMISSION 2: Slanders on an unidentified bad member as manipulative, makes assumptions girls they hangout with were underage.
  3. SUBMISSION 3: No allegation, just asks OP to post her story?
  4. SUBMISSION 4: Slandering on Richard, shows and old post in tumbler with no context about several bands about harassment.
  5. SUBMISSION 5: Anonymous person claims to have slept with Robbie (manager) and that’s it. Just that she/he felt uncomfortable.
  6. SUBMISSION 6: Slandering on Richard.
  7. SUBMISSION 7: Anonymous person claims Richard assaulted her 7 years ago, no details, just a statement
  8. SUBMISSION 8: Deleted?
  9. SUBMISSION 9: 2017, anonymous person claims to have a similar experience to chloesrazink, no rape or assault allegation.
  10. SUBMISSION 10: Sean sleeps with girl on Tinder, no allegation of assault or rape.
  11. SUBMISSION 11: Slandering on Richard and the manager.
  12. SUBMISSION 12: Claims Richard fingered some girl after she got kicked out of a festival when she was 19, for being too drunk with very incongruent details.
  13. SUBMISSION 13: Anonymous person claims to have driven far and had intercourse with Sean, no mention of assault or rape.
  14. SUBMISSION 14: Anonymous person assumes she was going to be in a situation with some photographer for groomer purposes? No context or details.
  15. SUBMISSION 15: First post that mentions a member from a different band, who claims to be “assaulted” (two times?) and by two different Buttertones band members in different situation?
  16. SUBMISSION 16: A very unbiased and unclear allegation on how Richard took advantage of a girl, where everyone was wasted.
  17. SUBMISSION 17: A 14 year old girl complaining about taking pictures with Richard?
  18. SUBMISSION 18: Anonymous person claims Richard assaulted a roommate and no mention of police reports/process?
  19. SUBMISSION 19: London just smokes with some girls? wtf?
  20. SUBMISSION 19: Anonymous girls claims of having bad sex with Richard, she even smokes a cigarette with him the next day.
  21. Richard flirting with girls?
  22. …
I am not trying to victim blame, or disregard all these girls who have come forth, what I am saying is that the way in which this is being coming to the attention of the public is not the proper way. If there are so many allegations and truly horrible assaults, why has nobody taken legal action before or sought help? Some of the allegations go back few years back where no legal actions were taken. Again the point I am stressing, is regardless of how bad someone is or a situation is, there is a process, and there is a right way to do things. And before you carry on with the CANCEL culture, you have to remember, innocent until guilty.

From just reading the allegations from exposing_the_buttertones I have come across zero substantial evidence that would stand in a court of law. What is sad, is that there are real victims of rape and sexual assault and those get lost by these type of un-based and many times false claims. From all the allegations I read, I could not find one single bit of proof, but many absurd misinterpretations of sexual assault. For example, having sex with someone who is cheating on their SO is a dick move but not a crime, or taking a picture with a member of the band is not assault.

Everybody tells you to not believe everything in the internet how is this different?

What makes me more concerned about the situation is how the account owner of exposing_the_buttertones is presenting the information in a way that is misleading and is not verifying the validity of its post by not posting evidence. If any of the allegations are proved to be false by someone, then the Buttertones and its members may have grounds to counter sue for defamation. They were dropped from their label as a consequence of these allegations, so they have the case where they could state that the false allegations lead to them losing their jobs and reputation.

Furthermore, it seems like the owner of the account has been deleting some submissions and attacking rape victims, see here and here. And the biggest act of misconduct from exposing_the_buttertones account owner is that he/she is accepting money from people at the expense of the defamation of the band, see here. This seems like something of very poor character, if what you truly advocate is justice for these women, why would you be accepting money in name of the cause? This is exactly the opposite of what someone attempting to achieve justice should do because it diminishes your goal, making it seem like you had an anterior motive (monetary or fame in this case). The last point I want to make about the management of this account is that if the account owner does not agree with someone’s opinion in the comments or in general, they are inciting attacks towards those accounts. exposing_the_buttertones should be careful in how they proceed because given that they are growing in attention, it is very easy to misinform the general public, mainly a younger public.

I want to make clear once more, I do not condone any of the alleged behavior against the band members. But if there were any type of evidence that shows they committed the crimes they are accused of, I would be more than happy to see justice made to according to their actions. Just remember, if it is proven that the allegations have no basis, the account, and the people behind it could suffer legal repercussions.

Hopefully, whoever reads this, can see things with open eyes and an open mind, and an attitude of true justice and dialogue rather than misinformation and deceit. I believe everything can be cleared out and whoever is guilty of misconduct suffers the consequences. GET OUT THERE AND PUSH!

Something Is Rotten In The State of Denmark

UPDATE : There is a way to do things and  exposing_the_buttertones_  did not do it the right way. The instagram account has been deleted, and there is suspicion that the account is allegedly owned (not confirmed) by Chloe S Razink and friends as well, based on research made by some of the targeted accounts, see  here  and here . Please do not believe anything you see without proof or facts. Not excusing anybody, just looking for true justice. We must support our local bands and fight for justice to happen accordingly. Real victims of sexual assault and rape deserve better.
